Wicklow Volunteer Centre is calling on the public to take the 26 for ’26 pledge in advance of National Volunteering Week 2026 (18th – 24th May). To mark International Volunteer Year 2026, we are encouraging people to get involved and commit to volunteering 26 hours throughout 2026.
Volunteering has significant benefits for both individuals and our communities. People who volunteer report feeling an increased sense of belonging to their communities and an improved sense of personal well-being. There are many ways to get involved: from helping out at a local event, giving your time to a charity whose cause you’re passionate about or becoming a board member at your local credit union.
Stay in the loop with all the latest happenings by following us on Facebook & Instagram, or check us out on our website!
There are numerous ways to make a difference in your community, and new roles are registered with us all the time! Each role is a chance to share your time, skills, and energy in ways that truly matter.

Join the Wicklow Community Volunteers Team!
Joining our Community Volunteers Team allows you to volunteer locally in a flexible way that suits your schedule. At the same time, you will be helping local community groups and causes that you care about. The team of volunteers is managed and supported at events by a staff member from the Wicklow Volunteer Centre .
As a Community Volunteer, there will be a variety of roles that you can take part in. Some will suit those who are comfortable being outdoors and on their feet. Once you are signed up, we will share different volunteer opportunities with you. These roles are specifically styled for the Community Volunteer Team.
Volunteers just need to be enthusiastic, reliable, and able to volunteer within a diverse team. Often, you will need to be comfortable dealing with new people and relating to the public in a positive and friendly way.
