Joining our community Volunteers allows you to volunteer locally in a flexible way that suits your schedule. At the same time, you will be helping local community groups and causes that you care about.
Is Community Volunteers for me?
Wicklow Community Volunteers is a group of volunteers managed and supported by Wicklow Volunteer Centre These volunteers help support once-off events and urgent community responses.
Once you are signed up, we will share different volunteer opportunities with you. You can then pick and choose different events that interest you and suit your schedule.
During Covid-19 we saw the need to mobilise volunteers quickly – the Community Volunteers program was our answer. It allows us, to create a diverse group of trained volunteers who are on standby.
Who can volunteer?
Wicklow Community Volunteers is ideally suited to people who want to meet new people and get involved in different kinds of events. No previous experience of volunteering is needed, and we welcome volunteers with limited or basic English. 
Volunteers will need to be enthusiastic, reliable, and able to volunteer within a diverse team. As a Community Volunteer there will be a variety of roles that you may take part in.
Some will suit those who are comfortable being outdoors and on their feet. Often you will need to be comfortable dealing with new people and relating to the public in a positive and friendly way. Community Volunteers should be over 18.
To become a Community Volunteer, you sign up with us, your local volunteer center, and complete a 3-step screening and training process, outlined below.

- Interview with our team member(via zoom, phone or face-to-face)
- Attend the Community Volunteers training session.
