I have only been here for a short while, but I must say, so far it has been a beautiful and wonderful experience!
I have always wanted to give back to the community in any way that I can. After I found out about volunteering opportunities through the Wicklow Volunteer Centre, I joined quickly.
So far it has been two months and I have volunteered in a couple of events and groups such as City West Volunteer Centre and now with Wicklow Volunteer Centre and wish to do so much more if possible.
I must say they are all very nice, friendly, and welcoming people. Some of the volunteer roles that I participated in were like the city tidy up, where we were arranged in groups and tidied up parts of the town. These volunteering experiences have a very big impact on my life. I get to meet new people, learn more about the community and make me feel better about myself. The locals who also see us cleaning the areas are very delighted, applauding us and some of them even stop by and buy us drinks and snacks, some even stop by and congratulate us and give us many kind, sweet and uplifting views, and comments.
I believe volunteering makes me a better person. I would recommend everyone to take part in volunteering as it feels good when you give back to the community.
